PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS
--------------------
The TM-1 Configuration program requires a computer running either Windows 95
or Windows 98. Previous versions of Windows will not work. The computer must
have a free serial port (COM1 - COM4) and approximately 6 MB of free hard drive
space available.

PROGRAM INSTALLATION
--------------------
IMPORTANT: Installation of the TigerTrak software can not be completed while
other programs are in use. Before running SETUP.EXE, it is very important
that you close all open programs.

If you already have the TigerTrak software installed on your computer, then you
will need to un-install it before continuing. To un-install the software, open
the Windows Control Panel and double-click the "Add/Remove Programs" icon. Once
the "Add/Remove Programs" window appears, select the TigerTrak software from the
programs list and then click the "Add/Remove" button.

To install the TM-1 Configuration Program on your computer, run SETUP.EXE and
follow the directions on your screen. Note that the setup program may need
to update some of your Windows files before it can complete the installation.
If this is the case, then you may need to restart your computer and run
SETUP.EXE again after the Windows files have been updated.

PROBLEMS DURING INSTALLATION
----------------------------
If you experience a problem during installation, please write down the error
message exactly as it is appears on the screen and then try one of the
solutions listed below.

1. If an error occurs during installation and you are given the option to
"Abort, Retry or Ignore", then click on the "Ignore" button to continue with
the installation. After the installation is complete, restart your computer
and run the TigerTrak software. In most cases, the software will run without
any problems.

2. If the above solution did not solve the problem, or if you have experienced
a different problem, then try the following: Restart your computer and hold down
the "SHIFT" key while Windows is loading. This will prevent any programs from
automatically loading during startup. Once Windows has finished loading, run
SETUP.EXE again to install the software.

ONLINE HELP
-----------
The TigerTrak Configuration Program contains an extensive on-line HELP database.
You can obtain HELP at any time when you are using the program by placing
the cursor in the field of interest and pressing F1. Access to the entire HELP
database is available from the Help menu at the top of the screen.

TROUBLESHOOTING TIGERTRAK PROBLEMS
----------------------------------
Extensive on-line help for troubleshooting TigerTrak installation and operation
problems is available from within the TigerTrak Configuration program. Click on
"Help" at the top of the screen and select "Contents". Then select the
"Troubleshooting" help topic.

JUMPERS / SHUNTS
----------------
The TM-1 has several jumpers on the pc board for accommodating special hardware
requirements. To activate the function associated with a particular jumper, you
must short the jumper pins together using a standard 2mm "Shunt". We have
supplied an adequate number of shunts with your unit for this purpose. If you
require additional shunts, you will need to obtain them from a local electronic
or computer supplier. The shunts are commonly used in disk drives and other
computer equipment, so they should not be difficult to find. Please do not call
Tigertronics to order additional or replacement shunts. They are not available!
